Q: Happy Mother’s Day! Who is your favorite mom from fiction?

Hands down Mrs. Weasley! You could see the love she had for her family and Harry and Harmione as well. I would not want to make her angry!

Q: We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions, RT, BEA, ALA and many more are starting soon. Which one would you love to attend? Where and why?

I'm dying to go to BEA, I've almost gone the past 2 years, we are talking pass in hand but something came up which prevented me from going. Since I only live 15 minutes from the city I do plan on eventually making it one year. My dream trip is to find a baby sitter and a puppy sitter, and find a nice hotel in the city that hubby and I could stay at and treat it like a mini vacation, or the honeymoon we never took. Cause what better plans for a honeymoon than to be surrounded by books!?! Now I just need him to agree hehe.

Where do you guys want to go?

Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate — ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

To be honest I thought I would absolutly hate Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler. I'm usually not one for sappy romamce books or really anything without a paranormal spin on it. And really even now the contemporary genre scares me, I'm trying to read more of it but I'm always afraid to start one. Truth be told though I ended up LOVING Bittersweet. I thought it was great and never once batted an eyelash at the fact that there were no vamps, weres, or any of our other standard creepy crawlies.

What books surprised you? Or just didn't do it for you?

Q: Tell us about the most emotional scene you’ve ever read in a book – and how did you react?

Not many books make me cry, but a few times during the series a beloved character would die, or something horrible would happen to someone I just loved to pieces. That series would be Harry Potter. More than one of the books had me in tears, the fact that it inspired so much emotion in me when books usually don't inspire tears proved to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was an amazing, well written set of books.

What makes you cry? :)

Follow Friday (22) - Guilty Pleasures

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Its a way to get out there and meet new bloggers and discover new blogs. :)

Q: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

Oh I have a few hehe...When I started blogging I read a good mix of Young Adult and Adult books, once I got into my groove with the blog I mostly started reading YA. My biggest guilty pleasure is the occasional adult book I read. The ones that I will drop everything to devour, Stephanie Plum, Rachel Morgan and a few others. I am hoping to get a little more caught up on my adult reads this year, but for now these are like a box of Hersey's semi sweet chocolate to me :)

Whats your guilty reading pleasure?

Q: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?
Ok so she may not be my favorite writer, I'm not even sure I have 1 favorite. I love alot of authors and alot of books! But for the sake of the question, I would have to thank Stephanie Meyer...I know I know but really. I always loved to read, but I got into a huge few year slump where I was only reading the 2 new V.C. Andrews releases that would come out in a year. While on facebook looking through the bumperstickers app I saw all these stickers for Twilight and I <3 Edward and such and I just had to know what it was all about, so I read Twilight and I was hooked, I devoured the rest of the series and went on a binge trying to find anything with vampires, were wolves and anything else that might go bump in the night. It sparked me to start really reading again. So thank you Stephanie Meyer for being exactly what I needed at the time to find my love of reading again!

What would you ask?!?

Literary Vacations: If you could take a trip this summer to any place within a fictional book, where would you go? Tell us about your summer dream vacation!
I would love nothing more than to spend a summer in Avalon with Laurell and Tamani from the Wings series by Aprilynn Pike. I loved it so much reading about her time there and I would love to just walk around and see the amazing sites and markets and maybe even attend school. Maybe while I am there I will grow a blossom and they would let me stay hehe.

Where would you go?!?

Q: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

Hmmm, this is a tough one! I think I would like to see Rose from Vampire Academy, go head to head with Alex from the Covenant series! I'm not sure who would win, they both have similar training and have been doing it most of their lives. It seems like an even match and I would just love to see who would come out on top.

Book Blogger Influences: Has there been a particular book blogger who's influenced what you read? Share with us a review/book blog that convinced you to pick up a certain book.

There have been a few that have influenced me in joining the Book Blogging Community, in what books I sometimes choose to read, and who have inspired me to try to make my blog better and better.

1. Lori @ Pure Imagination -  Hers was one of the very first book blogs I had ever read. We happened to be in the same Shelfari group and I read a few posts about her blog and checked it out and I was dazzled. It took me some time from that point to get into book blogging but at that time I knew I wanted to do it.

2. Angela @ Reading Angel - We were also in the same Shelfari group and it wasn't uncommon to see us either reading the same book at the same time or one right after the other. Usually when Angela says she LOVES a book I know that I should pick it up because the chances are very high that I will too.

Candace @ Candace's Book Blog - Another Shelfari group member who happened to post about her blog a few times and it was her that gave me the push I needed to really start blogging. I always loved hearing about their blogs and one day I said ok I have to try this.

If it wasn't for the 3 lady's listed above I probably wouldn't be blogging today. I would be missing out on meeting some awesome people and hearing about some great books. I enjoy being apart of the community although I am a bit shy and haven't really gotten to know many of you as well as I would like to. But I sincerely thank these 3 lady's because without them I would be apart of this wonderful community at all.

Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

Oh this is a tough one, I for one love movie adaptations but there are some that I just am fearful of. I know they are planning on making a Vampire Academy movie and I am afraid to go see it when it comes out. What if it sucks? I will see it though because I have to.  But I would also be afraid of a Curse Workers by Holly Black movie. I love the story and the characters and would hate to see it done wrong. Or The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa, I would be so sad if it wasn't perfect. The Shift series by Jeri Smith Ready would make a great movie if it was done well. There is a lot of books that would make great movies/tv shows but I would always worry that they changed a lot to make it work or are just inventing stuff to fill screen time *cough* (true blood) *cough*

What movies/tv shows would you like to see but at the same time are afraid of.

Q: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?

I have to admit yes I have. I have bought, borrowed, and begged for some books with bad reviews, because I just had to see for myself if it was as bad as everyone else said it was. While there have been some that I thought were good that others hated with a passion, there were some where I did have to agree it was pretty bad.

What about you guys? Do you pick and choose what to read by others reviews? Or do you read it anyway just in case you would like it?

The best book I've read this month...that is a tough one, I've read so many great books this month that I'm not sure I can choose. But for the sake of the argument I'm going to try.

I'm going to go with:

I haven't read any bad books yet this month, and I am hopeful that I will continue on this great reading streak I'm on.

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

I took a very very long drive to walmart at 12:00am for the release of the last Harry Potter book. We fought through herds of people just to get a look at a guy standing on a pallet full of books trying to get people to line up and the people were having none of it. In the end it took us like 2 hours of total chaos but I got my books and proceeded to lock myself away from the world until I was done so that nothing got spoiled!

Q: Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.

Oh boy this is one of those questions that always make people look at me funny. My music tastes vary heavily!
One of my favorite bands is Nickelback! I LOVE them and hope that they will be come back around where I like so I can see them live. I also like Eminem (I know right?!? lol) But yes it does continue to get stranger! I can also be found spending a great deal of time listing to Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, or Tim McGraw or anyone other number of country stars. My ipod is full of all different types of music. 90's music and 80's music will always hold a special place in my heart as well. So there now that the secret is out that I am strange in my music tastes please don't judge too harshly lol.

This is such a dangerous question lol. Well the good news is I only have 5 undread books sitting on my book shelf! The bad news is I have 100 some odd books that I still have to read sitting on my nook =o(   My goal for this year is to get through a good portion of my TBR pile.

“When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?”

I'm not sure there was ever a time where they weren't an important part of my life.  I was always reading or being read to, I have always loved books.  While a trip to the toy store might have been looked at as unnecessary if I said "Mom, can we go to the book store?" We were usually in the car in less than 5 minutes and on our way to the book store.  I appreciate that my mother never tried to take my books away, or tell me they were an unnecessary purchase, and I hope that one day my daughter will love them as well!

I have always been a Disney Littler Mermaid fan, even to this day I LOVE that movie!! The Hans Christian Anderson version use to make me cry though =o(

I'm not sure I can pick just one favorite novel about the Fae, they are one of my favorite things to read about! I will try to make a list of my top 5 favorites!
1. Merry Gentry Series - Laurell K Hamilton
2. Dark Swan - Richelle Mead
3. Iron Fae - Julie Kagawa
4. Faeriewalker - Jenna Black
5. Fever Series - Karen Marie Mooning

Wow, I just went and checked my goodreads to get the number for this question and it is VERY VERY high.  1,546 and that probably isn't everything since I really started using goodreads and blogging my TBR Pile has exploded, but to be fair I have a lot of stuff that won't be coming out till 2012 and 2013 on my TBR pile on goodreads so that is why it is so crazy high. *Sigh* I hope someone out there is worse than me.

Q. Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

I'm going to have to say that right now Dystopia is my favorite genre...but I don't just have 1 book that made it my favorite.  The Hunger Games Trilogy sucked me in, but quite a few books like Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien, and Divergent by Veronica Roth , Enclave by Anne Aguirre, and so many others have kept my love of this genre fresh and strong!

Q. What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)

I am terrified of zombies!! I can't watch zombie movies unless I'm okay with not sleeping for a few days, I haven't read many books that I have to do with brain eating zombies so I don't know if that would creep me out, and I can't drive past a cemetery without looking at the fence thinking how helpful it might be.  Now you would think that since I am such a scardy cat that I would have a great plan, but really I have a bat by the front door and the back door, I have enough wood in my garage to board up the ground floor windows, but my garage is quite a hike from my house so that might not be helpful.  My grandfather was big on keeping up a stock of canned foods so in my basement I have a ton of canned foods, and a supply of water.  I also have a boyfriend who likes to hunt so if it became necessary we would have weapons other than my baseball bats.

I think I would much rather deal with the zombies than Mel Gibson coming back to the silver screen *shudders* yes definitely rather take on the zombies!

I really enjoyed the Harry Potter movies, I wouldn't say that any of them were better than any of the books, but I still really really enjoy them and will stand on a huge line on opening night to see them hehe.  I was not a fan of the first Twilight movie, I thought that it was HORRIBLE, the second and third were better, but the first one was just UGH!  I also feel compelled to say that while I am anxious for the Hunger Games movie I am afraid to see it hehe. I LOVED them books and would hate to have the movie be bad.

On a normal week I can get through about 3 books a week, some weeks it is more some weeks it is less though, all depending on what we have going on around my house. I do 98% of my reading on my Nook, but since I have joined an ARC tour site, I will be doing more print book reading.
