One hour to rewrite the past . . . For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn’t there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents’ death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She’s tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson’s willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he’s around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?
Full of atmosphere, mystery, and romance, Hourglass merges the very best of the paranormal and science-fiction genres in a seductive, remarkable young adult debut.
My Thoughts...
OMFGWTFBBQ?!? I have been dying to get my hands on this book. I've drooled over IMM posts, and agreed with so many WOW posts and finally release day came! The second I finished the book I was reading I kicked on my Nook and started this amazing journey. I think I am in love with Emerson! She was such a snarky smart ass with a soft chewy center. Michael was swoon worthy as was Kaleb. I will take one of each please! I love a story where we learn with the character, and learning with Emerson was fun, sad, frustrating, and exciting. The only thing I am going to say about the story itself is wow. I am dying for more! The story moved at a great pace and just grabbed me. This book really has it all. A great story with teriffic characters, and the mystery of Emerson. I can't say enough about this book, if you haven't read it yet go get a copy and enjoy! I give this one 5 stars!
I TOTALLY agree! I LOVED this book! One of my favorite reads of 2012, hands down. I cannot wait for a sequel. You totally copped out by not picking a boy though! :) Team Michael? Team Kaleb?
